How to Lockout House Electrical Service Cut Outs
The electrical cut out can be found in most modern domestic and commercial buildings and can be used as a means to disconnect power by removing the conductor component. This is done when electrical service or maintenance is taking place, or perhaps when rewiring is ongoing.
A shroud (blocking) device can be inserted into the conductor terminals as a physical and visual warning not to re-insert the conductor. But there’s an inherent risk that a third party might disregard the presence of the shroud, remove it, and reinstate power. The consequence of such action could be fatal!
This locking device, designed by Total Lockout adds another layer of safety by locking the shroud in place with a padlock.
